Honey: grams to cups
1 tablespoon of honey weighs 21 grams, so 1 cup (16 tablespoons) weighs 336 g and 100 g of honey is about 4¾ tablespoons.
Honey is about 1.4 times as heavy as water, which is why a cup of it weighs so much more than a cup of milk (227 g).

Weights from the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart, checked October 7, 2026. King Arthur Baking lists “Honey” at 1 tablespoon = 21 g. King Arthur Baking lists “Maple syrup” at 1/2 cup = 156 g. Grams per cup is worked out from their figure; ounces are converted from grams.
Weigh it straight into the bowl
Honey is the ingredient where a scale saves the most mess. Put the mixing bowl on the scale, zero it, and pour until you reach the weight. Nothing to scrape out of a measuring cup, and nothing left behind in it.
If you're measuring by volume
Wipe the cup or spoon with a little oil first, or measure the oil or butter for the recipe in it beforehand, and the honey slides out cleanly. Measure honey that has crystallized after warming it gently, because the crystals leave air gaps.
Honey and maple syrup
Maple syrup is thinner and lighter: King Arthur weighs ½ cup at 156 g, so a cup is 312 g. Swapping one for the other cup for cup, you'll be using about 7% less weight of maple syrup. For other baking staples, see grams to cups.
Glazes, dressings and marinades from cooking videos often call for “a drizzle” of honey. ReelMeal writes down the amount the creator gives, so the next time tastes the same.
