The best recipe apps for iPhone in 2026

Nine apps that save, organize and help you cook recipes, compared on the things that decide which one sticks: where it can import from, what you get for free, and how it behaves in the kitchen.

We make ReelMeal, the first app on this list. Facts about the other apps come only from their own websites and App Store listings, checked in October 2026. We don't quote prices because they change and vary by country.

ReelMeal

Best for recipes that live in cooking videos, including ones with no written recipe

ReelMeal is built around one job: turning a cooking video into a recipe you can cook from. It listens to the creator and reads on-screen text, so a TikTok with nothing in the caption still comes back with amounts and steps. A merged shopping list, a hands-free cooking mode and an assistant that edits recipes on request sit around that.

How to choose a recipe app

Where your recipes come from

If you mostly save from food blogs, any app on this list will do. If they come from TikTok, Reels and YouTube, check whether the app reads the video itself or only the caption. Many short videos have no recipe in the caption at all.

Which devices you use

Apple-only apps such as Mela, Crouton and ReelMeal sync through iCloud. If anyone in your household is on Android or Windows, Paprika, Recipe Keeper, ReciMe, Samsung Food or Copy Me That will serve you better.

How you like to pay

Paprika and Mela are one-time purchases. Most others are free with limits, then a subscription. Look at what the free plan caps: ReciMe counts imports per week, while Copy Me That and Pestle count total recipes.

What happens after you save

A recipe app earns its place in the kitchen. Look for a cooking mode that keeps the screen on, a shopping list that combines ingredients across recipes, and meal planning if you plan the week ahead.

Questions

What is the best app to save recipes from TikTok and Instagram?

ReelMeal, ReciMe and Pestle all import from TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. ReelMeal reads the video itself, including the audio and on-screen text, which matters for videos with no recipe in the caption. ReciMe is the pick if you also need Android or a web app.

What is the best free recipe app?

Samsung Food has the most generous free tier for planning and shopping lists. Copy Me That is free up to 40 recipes, ReciMe allows 5 imports a week for free, and Pestle holds 15 recipes on its free plan.

What is the best recipe organizer app that works on iPhone and Android?

Paprika, Recipe Keeper, ReciMe, Samsung Food and Copy Me That all have Android apps. Paprika and Recipe Keeper also run on Windows.

Is Paprika still worth it in 2026?

For recipes from websites, yes: it remains a solid one-time purchase. Paprika 3 doesn't import from social video, though. Paprika says that arrives in Paprika 4, which is in open beta and will need a subscription.

How did you choose and check these apps?

We make ReelMeal, so we included it. The others are the recipe apps people search for most. Every fact about them comes from their own websites, help centers and App Store listings, checked in October 2026. We don't list prices because they change and vary by country.
